RS Electrical was appointed by Tier 1 main contractor BAM Construction to deliver the electrical installation package for the Nuneaton Digital Skills Centre, a new facility designed to provide modern teaching and technical learning environments.
Our team worked as part of the wider construction programme, delivering the electrical infrastructure throughout teaching spaces, offices, circulation areas and associated building spaces.
The project required close coordination with BAM and the other trades on site, particularly around the routing and installation of containment and building services within the exposed ceiling areas.
- Electrical containment systems
- Power distribution and final circuits
- General and feature lighting
- Small power installations
- Testing and commissioning
- Bespoke bracketry and supports for containment and services
- Coordination of electrical services with the wider building installation

Coordinating containment within congested ceiling areas
A significant element of the installation involved coordinating containment and electrical services within congested ceiling areas.
Where standard arrangements were not suitable, our team manufactured bespoke bracketry to achieve the required routes while maintaining coordination with the other building services.
Delivering the project
The installation was delivered in accordance with the issued design, specifications and construction programme.
Working alongside BAM and the wider project team, our engineers coordinated the electrical installation with other trades as the building progressed. This included adapting installation methods where required to overcome site constraints without compromising the design intent or programme.
Regular supervision and quality checks were carried out throughout the works, covering the installation from the initial containment and distribution infrastructure through to lighting, small power, final connections and commissioning.
The result
RS Electrical completed its electrical package in line with the project programme, providing the infrastructure required for the building's teaching, technical and communal environments.
The finished installation demonstrates the coordinated delivery required on a modern commercial construction project, from substantial containment and distribution infrastructure through to the finished lighting and power installations visible throughout the building.
